Mac Anti-spyware

Anti-spyware applications used to be ignored by Mac users. Aside from the fact that Mac is a highly secured OS compared to PC, the number of Mac users are not frequently the target of different attacks. The necessity of anti-spyware for Mac used to be debated since the addition of an anti-spyware is not that important as no one is really targeting Mac users. But those days are long gone.
Since the traditional spyware will not work for Mac, hackers have found another point of attack: phishing. This type of attack comes in the form of random emails or websites wherein they will ask personal information and eventually use them against the user. They could also use the information for unlawful means. The user will end up as a victim of identity theft.

The second scenario is through unknown downloads. Although Mac settings will require you to enter a password before you install any application, a shared computer will always be susceptible to different spyware. When everyone in your house can access your computer, you will never know the application they are downloading. Even the applications and plug-ins you are downloading might be infected with Mac spyware.

They might come in a form of friendly codec for your music player or a plug-in for your browser. As soon as the password is entered which allows the application to run, attacks could come in many forms – often unknown. Without you knowing it, Trojan could be installed wherein it could records keystrokes and capture screen activities. The mac spyware remover could delete the spyware but the damage might have been done as your actions could have been recorded and your personal information extracted.

Macintosh spyware removal could be a good thing for your Mac but that only answers half the problem. Your software should also prevent any types of downloads with potential spyware or alert you about the spyware and would give you the option of allowing the spyware to run in your system or not.

Prevention is better than Cure
